OVERVIEW. Loftus Engineers provided engineering design services to PJ Dick Corporation for the design a new 31,132 sq.f t. operations center for one of their subsidiary companies, Lindy Paving.
The electrical system included: PV panels on the roof, Sola Tubing for daylight controls, LED lights throughout the building, and programmable lighting controls for energy efficiency. A variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system with heat pump condensing units located in the ceilings, cools and heats the building. Construction is a steel floor framing.
Solar Photovaltaic panels from Solandra were used on the roof to supplement power production. Loftus also designed the power distribution and lighting for the asphalt plant next to the building.
